Especially with Facebook use dwindling, curious how many folks google old acquaintances from time to time. This year was my 20th reunion from high school; I can’t make it but it got me curious about folks I went to school with but haven’t seen in social media. Made me feel a bit stalkerish to google but then I wonder if they’re doing the same thing….
And I’ll admit I google old loves every once and a while, too. |
| Never. |
| Maybe once every ... 3-5 years? |
You rejected me back in 8th grade. |
| If someone pops into my head and I think " I wonder what they're doing now" I might google them. But I'm 54 and I'd say about 50% or more of the people my age have zero social media presence. So some are not out there to read about at all. Others are in fact dead, which can be depressing to find. |
| On the daily. |
| Never |

I used to google people I'd broken up with or had a falling out with all the time. Like every day. Now I almost never do. I also don't use social media much anymore, and very rarely for this purpose.
I am in a much healthier mental space now. |
| Never. |
| Occasionally if someone pops into my head. I may or may not admit to it in real life, depending on who I'm talking to. |
| Sometimes. I have thought about someone and googled them to find out they have died. Intuition, maybe. |
|
Every once and a while if they pop up in relevant conversation or thought. Just last night I had a dream about an ex. He was coaching the team my kid was playing. So I googled him this morning, saw a LinkedIn, nothing exciting.
I don't really have anyone in my past where there's bad blood or a falling out, only people I have lost touch with where there's no reason to reconnect. Sometimes I get curious or sentimental, I think it's natural! |
| Maybe once a month? My husband and I went to the same college, so we'll think of someone from then and I'll check on what they're up to. That kind of thing. Last time I did it I found out that an old classmate I found super annoying had one a couple Hugo Awards. |
Lol I guess we can see why I'm not the one winning writing awards. |
| Just the hot ones. |
