* The 32-year-old was there because he was an assistant DA.

Really don't see the relevance of the women's political leaning either way. Their stories are corroborated independently by 32+ witnesses and contemporaneous court records. Moore would not even deny dating underaged girls. There is no factual basis to doubt their claims.

I don't remember too much about the Menendez case. He was indicted for corruption and good riddance.
