Whenever we vacation with in laws

Dh and I always get assigned the “lesser” room. If we are renting a beach house, DHs parents and his sister and BIL will take the two nice rooms with king/queen beds and leave the twin beds room or the attic for us.

Every single time.

They usually arrive earlier and have already claimed the rooms by the time we have arrived.

DH thinks it’s NBD and I think it’s disrespectful.

These people suck. Just get one of those mattress pads that turn two twins into one queen & know that they are horrible people. Don't start a fight unless you just don't want to go on vacation with them.

This happens because they’re footing the bill and you guys are freeloading. Start helping with the rental costs and responsibilities and you’ll get offered a better room.

Your husband isn’t rocking the boat bc he’s enjoying these free trips.

BECORE commuting to dates next time, say you want a room with a queen bed (or whatever your preference is) or you won’t be joining them this time. This is of course if and only if you are paying an equal share.

Traveling w in laws isn’t vacation. I made this clear before marrying. Visiting or spending time w family is spending time w family and involves some form of inconvenience and disappointment. Vacation is vacation.
