Class grade not matching ? Q for teachers or admins

Anonymous
Teachers or admins, in ParentVUE why would a students grade (next to their name) show lower than the classes they are registered for?
Anonymous
Do you mean that student is in 9th grade but taking a 10th grade class?

Supposed to be in 10th, but marked as 9th grade. The classes registered are for 10th. Should the grade have updated or does that happen tomorrow?

I have a 10th grader, and on the Student Info page in Parentvue it already says Grade 10.

What does it say under “student info”?

That's a problem. He should ask at the counseling office.

Is your child up to date on English classes? When my son missed a lot of school for medical issues we were told that grade corresponded with the level of the English class he was taking.

Perhaps your child didn't pass the required classes needed to advance. If they didn't get 7 credits with passing math and English then they are still a freshman. The student is able to move on the grade level classes. Please keep an eye on this. Something is missing and you don't want a surprise senior year. Look closely at the transcript.

Teacher here. One of the regulations details requirements for “promotion” to the next grade level. To be designated grade 10, students have to have earned a full credit in English 9 and a full credit of their high school math class. Each year after that they also have to earn credits each year in social studies, science, and electives to be on track for graduation.

Students are always placed in the English class corresponding to the correct grade, if they hadn’t failed required course(s).
