Where my old fart homebodies at on a Saturday night?

Anonymous
Anyone else just... tired? My neighbors invited me over at 7:30... and I came up with a lie. But honestly I want to have my teeth brushed and flossed by then. They like to entertain with small groups every weekend, it seems. Me... I want to go to sleep early, wake up early-ish, get things done and then relax on my weekends. I'm 42, not 22. I know I'm lame but I just want to get my sleep and exercise and introvert on the weekends (will make an exception occasionally, but definitely not every weekend).

Anyone else embracing their old fart homebody-ness?

#MeToo

Just ate a big salad with a glass of wine. Pouring #2 before I hit the couch and scroll through DCUM for a few hours.

Living my best life.

In bed half-scrolling, half reading a book. And thinking about how it is 8pm and I should eat something for dinner, but I feel too lazy.

Sometimes I feel like this, and perhaps it depends on where I am in my cycle, now I think about it. Right now, ovulation time, I'm a party girl! Went to see Barbie yesterday with a friend, chatted with a neighbor, texted/emailed various people, phoned my mother - I'm social at that time

I am so with you. My neighbor texted at 5 to see if my husband and I wanted to join him outside for a drink. I told him we’d have to postpone until tomorrow because I was so tired from power washing the deck I was already in my pj’s! It’s now 8 and I’m pretty sure I’ll be asleep by 9. No regrets!!

When you like yourself and your housemates you don't need to go out to chase thrills.

You are my people. We are in our late 40s. Our kids are either out at sleepovers or out with friends. DH and I were going to go out to dinner but we are too tired. He already went to bed and I said I would stay up until they get home since I can’t sleep soundly with teen drivers out. I’m spending my Saturday night on the couch on here.

DH and I are introverts. We only get together with couple- friends twice a month and that's plenty for us. Maybe we go out to lunch with a work friend or something in addition, but most weekends we want to read, watch shows, go for walks, recover from the week, etc.

We went to a neighbors last night, I had two beers and woke up with a headache. On the couch now watching Hulu with DH. Boys are playing video games online with their friends in their version of their best lives.

Watching the Commanders game by myself. I love Saturday night football games!

No one here wants or needs your sympathy. We’re actually pretty happy!

I’m right there with you. But I’ve always been a homebody.
