| I like Robert Galbraith, jo nesbo (though this borders on too bleak/gory for me),Elizabeth George, and tana French. Any ideas? |
| I just finished Homecoming by Kate Morton - I enjoyed it very much. She is good at writing historical fiction juxtaposed with modern day and throwing in an intriguing mystery. |
| Anything by Anthony Horowitz |

| The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon |
| Agatha Christie |
These are never long, they're very short, quick reads. |
| Silent in the Grave by Deanna Raybourn. Something like 500 pages. Couldn't put it down. |
| Kate Atkinson's Jackson Brodie series. Case Histories is the first one--so so good! |
| The Quincunx by Charles Palliser |
Jane Harper, Australian author. Great mystery writer, engaging characters and storylines. Start with "The Dry". |
+1 PP if you are the person who recommended the audiobooks on another thread, this internet stranger owes you a debt of gratitude! The movie with Eric Bana is also a very faithful adaptation, and they’re making one of “force of nature” as well. |
| Anything by Tana French, but I like The Secret Place. |
