Closes at midnight for those who want to participate. Email with link just went out today. Nice, tight deadline. I looked through the responses. It allows you to give a response and then rate all the other responses from strongly disagree to strongly agree. I would say about 95% of the responses are complaining about the proposed start date next year of 2 weeks before Labor Day. Sadly, about 10% of the responses complain about all the surveys APS does but never listens to the overwhelming feedback to make any changes. |
I actually like the thought exchange platform |
Where have you been for the last month? We’ve been talking about this on the huge calendar thread here: https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/1129032.page |
I find it clunky and limiting. Maybe I'm missing something; but I can't just see all the various comments and am only given the opportunity to rate comments it chooses to list for me to rate until I rate 30. And there doesn't seem to be a direct way of responding to another person's comment - or explain why you disagree or agree with it. I don't find it to be an exchange at all; just a cumbersome way to partially react to some selective comments. Also, per usual APS surveys, maximum character limits restrict the ability to explain one's answers and viewpoints. |
Agreed. I can’t look at the comments and decide which ones to vote on. If I want to vote, I have to go in whatever order the website picks. It’s irritating. No one is going to rate all 1,000 comments to get to the one they really wanted to vote on |
True, but you can rate as many as you want. You aren’t limited to 30. Even with the open-ended format, the results are crystal clear re: what people want. |
I rated about 250 and then the platform crashed and asked me to start over. This begs the question how the algorithm chooses which comments it shows you to rate them. You should be able to click past comments you don’t want to rate. |
I submitted a comment and when I started to rate comments, the website gave me my own comment to rate. 😂 I mean of course I gave myself 5 stars, but I thought that was a flaw of the system |
I too gave my comment 5 stars |
This is OP: I'm well aware of this issue and I participated in the previous survey. I was merely highlighting that APS put out a NEW survey and gave parents less than 12 hours to complete it (from the time the link was emailed). |
It's not new. It's the same survey they put out a while ago. They just sent it out again. |
You can skip them; but it wasn't intuitive to me how to do that. You have to click the 3 dots for an option to skip or report the comment. There should be a complete listing of all the comments and the ability to rate and also respond to each one. The "skip" button should be an option along with the rating scale at the bottom of the comment, not hidden in a drop down menu. |
+ 1 the email they sent out yesterday was just a reminder that the ThoughtExchange feedback opportunity was closing that night at midnight. It had been open for several weeks before then. |
Don't bother. The school board members are just going to dismiss it again for not being representative enough. |
It seems overwhelmingly clear the community is struggling w the additional holidays. Perhaps it’s the school board that is not representative of the community. |
