So they appointed a new chief safety officer in June, and now it's for some reason "breaking news" that the previous chief safety officer is no longer the chief safety officer?

They did quietly remove Ed Clarke, but it’s not new news. I do want to know why he was removed from his position though.

I’m guessing it’s because security and safety has been abysmal at MCPS for the last two years, but MCPS should have been transparent about the shift.

I'm still looking for our principal at Wheaton HS. He's not there. The former principal is back but he is still listed on the school page as principal. Did he quit? Is he sick? Will he return?

It would be helpful if Central Office provided insight to the change. I’m not a fan of how he carried out his duties, but to give him the benefit of doubt, he could have simply retired/resigned. June and July are normal times people leave their MCPS positions.

How come we teachers never get moved to hr after we are put through the ringer of helpless crime in the classroom with no admin support. If they wanted to keep the dirty deets of the job contained wouldn't they do that. Well I guess those jobs are for the privileged few and dcum forum is where the rest of us can enlighten the public as to how the system is really run.

He's one of several people who were principals last year and are now assistant principals this year.
