Cost to install new sump pump with battery backup?

Anonymous
We're looking to replace our existing sump pump / battery backup with a new one. We have gotten one quote so far and it seems very high to us (north of $2k) but does include everything including installation. We have no frame of reference and while we wait for other quotes curious as to what others have paid for new sump pump with battery backup including installation?

Is this something you can wait on? If it goes out, you’ll be in a world of trouble and will wish you had just paid the 2k. Maybe make some phone calls and explain the situation for an over the phone quote.

Get a zoeller pump, backflow valve, and a battery kit from a big box store and DIY.

Will cost no more than a few hundred to 1k max.

That seems cheap to me.

That seems reasonable. Anything plumbing related is always going to cost more than you think it will.

Are they cutting a hole in the ground? If it's just replacing parts https://www.sumppumpsdirect.com/pumps/4000-4999-gph-combination-sump-pump-systems.html

Well, I guess we just robbed as it was $3,600 plus $600 for the battery backup. We had to have the hole drilled though and all the piping added.

Ours was more like $3k. I’m sure I didn’t get the best deal but I like and trust our plumber.

PS this was just to replace the pump and battery.

Consider a Liberty J10 siphon emergency pump instead of a battery system.

OP here and this is kind of where we are at. Nothing wrong with our sump pump but worry that it's near end of life nearing 12 years. Just need new pump and battery backup and although I am pretty handy usually not sure I trust myself with a sump pump where a mistake would result in a flooded basement.

We just bought a sump pump and battery and replaced it ourselves. So cheap. Why can't you just do that? its super easy to replace.

I diy stuff but our sump pump is in a funny corner and I didn’t want to and I’m happy to just pay our plumber and be done. I like him.
