This is just crazy, and sad. 4 bottles in under 30 mins, while it seems like a lot I wouldn't think it would be enough to cause water toxicity.

| Of all the things I drink too much of on vacation, water ain't in the top 10. |
| What size of bottles? |
| It says at one point 4 bottles in 30 mins, that doesn't sound like that's all she drank. Sounds like she was hydrating during the day consuming lots of water. |
"Her bottle of water is like 16 ounces, so that was 64 ounces that she drank in the span of 20 minutes. That's half a gallon. That's what you're supposed to drink in a whole day." According to WRTV, Summers made it home that night, but passed out in her garage and never regained consciousness." https://abc7news.com/indiana-water-toxicity-death-hydration-monticello/13613836/#:~:text=Her%20bottle%20of%20water%20is,garage%20and%20never%20regained%20consciousness. |
No the article says she was severely dehydrated that day. |
She must’ve been really petite. I remember an older story about a young woman who died after a radio contest that was to drink as much water as you can. (The contest prize was an X-Box or something.) That’s when I first learned water toxicity was a thing. Damn tragic….and scary. |
Hydrating is not an actual scientific thing |
| she probably had very low sodium |
Yes, that's water toxicity. Messed up electrolytes. |
| Ive only heard of this happening to people on mdma |
weird comment |
Is it? I've just never heard of it happening in regular life. |
I am the PP who mentioned this story. https://insiderexclusive.com/radios-deadly-stunts-the-jennifer-strange-story/ |
The article says she was complaining of being dehydrated. I think she was a water obsessive. Really sad. |
