Loudoun County and LCPS get the NYT treatment in this article about the sexual assaults that brought down Scott Ziegler as the superintendent. It’s thoroughly researched but the condescension towards Loudoun (“fake Colonials”) is fairly obvious. And did everyone else already know that since getting the boot Ziegler started wearing earrings and painting his fingernails black? |
Paywall. |
PP. The one mistake I found is they say Andrea Weiskopf is an English teacher. She is, in fact, a Latin teacher. Both my daughters had her. |
This is the NY Times that also did a hatchet job on Dawn Dorland. It will be interesting to see how they twisted the LCPS story. If it doesn't point out all the problems the sheriff's office caused, it's a piece of crap. |
As someone who has followed this from the beginning, I didn’t learn anything new. Well except Ziegler’s nail polish. |
Thank you. Hope you have an amazing day full of rich people! |
He’s just busy being his authentic self. |
Lol! Turns out I went to school with one of the conservative villains of this story. I’ve been casually skimming posts on this topic for ages, but it never occurred to me to look at the names/faces behind the outrage machine. The NYT officially has my attention! |
She teaches both. |
I wish the media would just leave Loudoun alone. I suggested to my DC that his college essay should be about the experience of going to school and trying to avoid protestors, podcasters, and ABC 7 on the way in. I was only half joking. |
That could make a great essay!!! |
Maybe Loudoun should be less shitty, then |
ABC 7 is Sinclair Broadcasting. Their reporting on schools is biased and garbage. But their expose of travel by the county board was good journalism |
That is one really well done and comprehensive expose of how right-wing jerks around the country exploited and lied about things in Loudoun for their craven objectives. |
