Red White & Royal Blue movie

So loved this book (about a 20-something "first son" of the U.S. falling for the 20-something closeted prince of England and causing an international incident) and relieved the movie (out on Amazon in a couple weeks) is getting good initial Twitter, er X reviews. Has Uma Thurman as the president.

(and yes it's rated R)

L O L at rated R. There were some pretty damn graphics scenes in the book! I was listening to it on metro in, blushing, thinking if only these people heard what I was hearing!

yah... I am curious to see how far they take it on screen!!

Also, this is sorta cute, there are "official" IG accounts for the two leads:

I think the post about the ice cream is right from the book?

They seem to have cut the "first son's" sister from the movie, but that happens

I really enjoyed the book. I’ll check back here to see if the consensus is that the film lives up to the book.

Same!

This is available tonight at 8 p.m. It's at 85% on Rotten Tomatoes so far; the ones I have skimmed seem to say it's B/B+ in quality.

It was good! And definitely steamy. Definitely soapy/corny in parts too, but I suppose that is a rom-com thing. Per above, I would give it a B or three out of four stars. Uma Thurman had a couple good scenes but was underused and the first 30 minutes were a bit rushed. But lord the chief of staff actress's performance in the scene where she catches them in the hotel together! And the scene in the hall of statues and later with the king...it got me, it got me

This one?

Yes. Especially before she speaks. It is like the comic version of what Meghann Fahy did with her eyes for 15 seconds in the final episode of White Lotus season 2

I somehow missed all of this until I saw a picture of the two leads on my Google TV Home Screen this morning. For those who know … is this the start of our very own domestic BL industry???? I’m not sure I’m ready. 😳

Really tired of all this as if it’s mainstream but ok.

What is “all this”? books about enemies turned lovers? Books about falling in love with a prince? Books about gay people?
