| Really making this all about you, huh? |
Seriously why shouldn’t she? |
Congratulations? Humble bragging? |
Because it isn't about her?.... |
It 100% affects her safety at her nearest metro stop. Are you this dense IRL? |
I find it tasteless and tacky to take another person's trauma and provide only commentary about how it affects you. But I suppose there are many tasteless and tacky people in this world. |
NP. The OP should have expressed concern for the victim first. Still, rising crime in this county affects all of us and it’s not unreasonable to respond with fear and concern. |
Nice attempt to divert attention from the fact that metro is dangerous. |
| I’m so glad she was able to fight the suspect off and escape. I wonder how they ID’d him so quickly? |
facial recognition likely. Apparently he had a prior indecent exposure incident |
Metro is not dangerous. |

The rapist's mother says he's schizophrenic and she tried to get police officers to get him off the street: https://wjla.com/news/local/mothers-plea-for-help-son-accused-attempted-rape-adrian-barnes-shady-grove-wmata-metro-station-transit-police-dc-montgomery-county-teresa-buchanan-st-elizabeths-hospital#
I'm betting the schizophrenia is linked to heavy marijuana use, probably as an adolescent. The report says mental health services are revolving doors, so it sounds like she's had him referred before but they just keep letting him back out. People say they want us to "improve mental health services" but do they realize that means make it easier to commit and hold people who might otherwise do harm to themselves and others? |

The very first thing I thought of was my daughters. Not the victim.
I think it's not abnormal to hear these things and personalize them. |
| That's so terrifying. I hope they catch him and that she gets therapy. |
