What do you have on hand for breakfast for a DF, GL eater?

Anonymous
SiL is coming to visit. After digestion issues for some time, she has embraced a dairy-free, gluten-free diet and really has seemed to turn a corner after years of discomfort. What can I have on hand for her for breakfast? Think we have the other meals covered, but what would be good to have available for breakfast? TIA!

Eggs, fruit, granola. GF bread for toast.

The above plus bacon and hash browns.

Just ask her. "I'm going food shopping tomorrow - what can I pick up for your breakfasts?"

Double check if she uses any sort of alternative creamer for her coffee like almond milk.

See if she likes any of the DF yogurts - some are very good!

Fruit, eggs, GF granola (Trader Joe’s has a great selection), avocado, bacon/sausage, hash browns.

Ask about whether she eats GF bread and if she has a preferred creamer.

Ask her what she usually has. I do a smoothie or eggs and turkey sausage with almond flour tortillas and hot sauce.

Thanks for all the replies. DH asked her, but she hasn't gotten back to him and I only have small windows to shop.

Thanks again.

Lots of cross contamination with oatmeal. To be safe, buy Bob's Red Mill.

If you're still looking for ideas, I made a pot of overnight apple cinnamon steel cut oats in the crockpot for my vegan, gluten free cousin who came to visit. They were a hit.

My DD was recently diagnosed with celiac so we’ve bought a bunch of gluten free items. Granola and pancakes definitely can contain gluten. You can buy gluten free versions at whole foods as well as gluten free pasta. Be aware that soy sauce as well as mayo often contain gluten. My DD sticks with a protein and raw fruits/veggie diet. Fortunately she’s been ok with the gluten free products and also eats rice which is gluten free.
