Pickleball and Arlington...we need to talk

Can we stop building these god damn fields? What is the point of our elected officials and planning commitee building them? Some of them are overrun at night by wildlife and the homeless use them as encampments. One of them even smelled like urine. The one over by Court House.

Pickleball is played on a court, not on a field. Perhaps OP is confused.

Courthouse has pickelball? That's news to me. Perhaps you're confusing it with tennis.

I live in Arlington and play pickleball but honestly some of the players are way too over the top for me. The people surrounding Walter Reed were complaining about the noise at all hours. The courts are really close to houses and I feel for those people living there and yes, the whack of the ball would be so annoying to me to.

I think the better answer is to look to convert indoor space. Building courts works for right now but who is to say that in 5 years pickeball won't fall out of favor.

Yup.

We have a pickleball court near us. We only have street parking. And yes, no one owns the street, but I cannot get over how AWFULLY most of the (mostly boomer) pickleballers park. They leave absurd amounts of spaces between their cars and waste so much space. Or just enough that another car can't fit in between. It's so obnoxious. Indoor spaces is the answer.
