| Buying my baby brother a rice cooker for his birthday/housewarming. What’s your favorite? Don’t want to spend an arm and a leg but willing to pay a bit more for something that will last. |
| Zojirushi. End of discussion. |
This. We've had our forever and I love it. |
|
I use this one several times a week. It is enough for 2-3 people or one recipe of fried rice.

Yep, I’m single and live alone. I love this thing. I have the small 3 cup version and it’s perfect for me. |
| Agree Zojirushi for sure, but if you don't want to spend a ton of money, we have the Aroma and it's great. |
| Tiger. |
Agreed. It is worth the high cost if you factor in how much you will use it. Mine is over 25 years old! |
We have the Aroma and it's perfect. I was a hesitant convert to a rice cooker, but out of gift ideas, I got my DH one and it is the best thing ever! |
|
Zojirushi lasts a long time. The inner non-stick pot does not. It starts peeling after a while.

When I cook basmati which is very frequently it comes out great in a Le Creuset saucepan on the stove. Rice, water, evoo, bring to boil reduce to low and let sit ~20 minutes then fluff with fork.
The above method is very easy and I have just always wondered if I am really missing out by not having a rice cooker? What is the advantage? |

I like Zojiroshi, but there’s an equally enthusiastic group of people who swear by Cuckoo. Can’t go wrong with either. |
Mine hasn’t. It’s about 15 years old. |
