| Heh, good luck...you have no idea how much the Chinese are hated in South Korea and Japan. The Chinese also detest the Japanese with a passion because of WW2. I mean holy crap, they had to flood the Yangtze River to stop the Japs from invading and it killed 30,000,000+ people in the worst disaster caused by humans in history. Of course all you're taught about is the Holocaust, but the Chinese received a similar fate and even worse in many regards. Every bad guy on Chinese media is Japanese these days. |

It was only in 1940 that Japan launched the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity sphere, promoting Asia for Asiatics. A year later it attacked the United States. I do not think it is currently in Japan's interest to join an alliance with China. But the sentiment of Asian independence from the West is not without historical foundation. |

The thing with china is, this could change overnight if CCP decides that it's better to focus the people 's animosity towards the west vs Japan. People who believe otherwise are underestimating the ability of the CCP to manipulate public sentiment. |

Yeah no. After the things that Japan did, Chinese people won't forgive them, whether they are friends or enemies on tv shows. And that animosity applies between Japan and Korea and Korea and China. They aren't going to come together for the common good. At least not now. |

Americans are relatively straightforward people. We say what we mean and we mean what we say. Other cultures, including chinese people, are accustomed to saying one thing publicly and meaning another, to saying one thing while believing something else. "Public sentiment" isn't what is in people's hearts and minds. |
