I rent in MoCo and am worried about rising crime. PG is more affordable and I noticed that crime is declining. Do ppl feel safe who live in PG?

| Yes, I feel very safe living in PG. But to be honest, it wouldn’t occur to me to track crime statistics or move because of them. For one thing, PG and MoCo are both huge counties. County-level statistics can’t tell you much about a given neighborhood. |
| I live in PG. I feel perfectly safe here. |
| I grew up in Moco and now live in PG. I love PG. I too do not track crime but feel as though my neighborhood is pretty safe. We live in Bowie. Every city is different though. |

I have lived (Laurel) and worked (Greenbelt) in PG County for 31 years and I have always felt safe here.
The high crime rate tends to be in the small part of central PG County inside the beltway. The majority of the county, outside the beltway (north, central and south) has comparable crime statistics to most of Montgomery County. |
I was surprised by the Hyattsville division crime stats (you can view them separately on the dropdown menu on top). Things have really declined! I live in Silver Spring and the crime is definitely rising. |
That division included Langley Park, Chillum etc which have higher crime. Another form of statistics that won’t help you much. I mean even where I live in Mt Rainier we only have 8000 residents, but crime statistics aren’t going to be that reflective of the day to day depending on where you live because most of the crime is concentrated in specific apartment complexes and by the big bus stop. |
| I live in central mclean but apparently it’s yellow down the street from the police station. |
True, but the % decline in various types of crime is really really good. |
| The fact that MoCo doesn't even show data like this so easily is telling. |
Um, ok. You don't know how to run a google search I guess. Have fun: https://data.montgomerycountymd.gov/browse?category=public+safety&limitTo=datasets&utf8=%E2%9C%93 |
Chill out bro. Thought MoCo wokes were not so excitable |
| I feel safe in my neighborhood. Most of the major crime happens in the same handful of areas mainly in the southern and central parts of the county inside the beltway. |
| Shhhhhh, don't tell anyone. Let the DC "wokes" continue to pay a million + for overwhelming density and 6x the crime. |
