Have a cousin who was socialized to hate HRC, had enough sent to not vote for Trump, and was leaning towards Johnson. Then this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pcj8yJk87cs And that is one of the reasons why Jill Stein ended up with an inordinate number of votes in the swing states. |
| Who is Frances Suarez and why should I care? |
This is worse than the Aleppo moment because of Suarez’s little quip about “Weebles.” [OP] |
I mean, it’s right in the OP. See the first lines of the tweet. But, yeah, maybe you shouldn’t care. We’ll all be better for it. |
Who cares?
|
Really? You know the libertarian candidate got 3 times the vote of Stein in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania? Clinton was a horrible candidate. She always over polls vs her results and was the only candidate trump could beat. |
| Well I don’t know who Frances Suarez is? |
| Lucky for him mayors do not do international diplomacy! |
Yeah, not knowing who Uyghurs are isn't bad. But "Weebles" is a bad response for a subject you don't know. |
I mean, there's time to learn about the issues you don't know. But you should have the wisdom not to joke about something when it could be a serious issue. |
+1 Anyone can have a brain fart. Making fun of something as “sounding funny” is both kind of xenophobic and just bad news. |
Are people unable to read? “GOP presidential candidate,” it’s right in the tweet. Is the tweet not properly embedded for you or something? |
| I don’t know who the “weegars” are either. I don’t watch news on tv and get my information from reading so I don’t think it is that surprising. |
^ forgot to add that even though I don’t know about the “weegars” I do know about the Uyghurs when reading. The same thing happens with other groups or locations when the English spelling doesn’t match up with the actual pronunciation. |
