Anyone else similarly floored by this? Saw it in a thread and was just like - WOW. I can't believe it's 2023 and people are still hitting their kids and then admitting it to others.

I can't believe there are people out there that are *floored* by the idea of a spanking.

Your kids are the bratty ones that are on the floor throwing a fit because they didn't get the juice flavor they wanted.

I can't believe that people ascribe all sorts of minor and major negative results to a form of discipline - while the the discipline can be abused, most people are not abusive and discipline and boundaries are good for kids.

I work in an elementary school. It's surprising how many kids say they get spanked. On the other hand, is it really that big of a deal? One of my kids remembers every single "consequence" I ever dished out as if it were a horrible trauma. Oh well.

In some countries (scotland for example) spanking is assault that will get you arrested or cps.
