Woke up this morning and the diamond from my engagement ring is gone

Married 25 years and so sad about this. Anyone have any suggestions about where I should look? Anyone have good stories about finding something that they lost? Ugh.

Look in and around your bed.

Shake out the sheets and look around your room with someone else. Don’t move anything.

A diamond came out of wedding band twice and the jeweler (I Gorman) put replace and put back in.

Diamonds shouldn’t be coming out of rings. Good luck finding.

Check your bed. Maybe prong on ring got caught on your sheets or comforter and diamond fell out that way.

Wherever you’re looking for it, try turning off the lights and using a flashlight. I find that helps when searching for something small that reflects light.

I FOUND IT! In the middle of the living room rug. I think it popped off last night when I was bringing in a heavy grocery bag and twisted it off my wrist in a weird way, the bag must have snagged a prong.

Yes, everyone should get their prongs checked regularly so consider this your reminder. I was doing this regularly for the first ten years or so but fell out of the habit.

When we bought it there was an insurance plan but IIRC it required getting the prongs checked annually which I haven’t been doing. I personally wouldn’t use homeowners’ insurance for this but I know some people would.
