^^even if you donât have the brain power to understand wtf you voted for. |
There is still a chance to stop this bill specifically the Medicaid cut. I donât think Trump is even aware the Medicaid cuts are in the bill. Even if you are not on any type of assistance, the cuts to Medicaid will decimate our healthcare system. Hospitals in blue areas are already making cuts. No one will be immune from this. No one!

Itâs interesting what this bail out for rural hospital signals. Basically rural, hint, white, gets the bail out, but blue cities, black and brown people, can F themselves. |
That's the story of America. Happy 4th! đșđž |
This bill gives Republicans what they have wanted for years. Cuts to the social safety net and lower taxes for corporations and the rich. They've cried crocodile tears about the deficit for 25 years while adding to it every time they are in charge. This is just more of the same, but they finally got their Medicaid cuts and SNAP. The problem for Republicans now is the working class put them back in power. Their benefits get cut and they won't get much from the new goodies in the bill. |
Agreed, but this would have some meaning coming from a party that ran, but didnât torpedo, Bernie Sanders. Billionaires would be fine under Harris too. |
a $50 bn bail out fund won't go far. And will mostly just line hospital exec pockets while people without health care place greater burden on emergency care again. |
Also the story of America. |
A lot of working class people get tips and overtime and they will seeing sizeably larger paychecks after this bill. And if you donât think Seniors, the most reliable voting bloc, wonât notice this Social Security tax cut youâre out of your mind. https://www.axios.com/2025/07/03/big-beautiful-bill-social-security
This Dem spin on this bill is not going to matter if these no tax on tips, overtime, and Social Security deductions get implemented. These are incredibly large voting blocs. |
He isn't aware of it. Republicans are walking the plank for this bill and Trump doesn't even know what's in it. https://x.com/TheMaineWonk/status/1940553624926802386[twitter] Trump had a sit-down with the more moderate House Republicans on Wednesday in which he told them that the three things they needed to let be if they wanted to win in 2026 and 2028: Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security. âBut weâre touching Medicaid in this bill,â one member told the president, according to NOTUS sources. |
They'll notice it alright. They'll notice that 50% of them aren't getting it. |
This isn't what they are doing. It's illegal for undocumented people to get Medicaid. They know that. Most people currently on Medicaid work. Now, they will have onerous paperwork to do. The hope is that they won't keep up so they will be kicked off of Medicaid. It's a tactic. It's difficult for working people to take a day off to file the necessary paperwork (which is complicated). |
Waitresses and cops will love it. What about receptionists? Pre-k teachers? Lots of low income people work in jobs that don't have tips or overtime. Do we want people to leave those jobs to avoid taxes? That's not a good thing. More likely they will be mad that they don't benefit from these cuts. |
Most people are not tipped workers. Major cuts to medicaid. Added $5T to the debt which means we will all pay more in interest. I make about $1M a year so I will get a tax cut. I don't need it. I benefit, but most people won't. Major tax breaks for the wealthy (I don't consider myself rich). Major cuts to clean energy which was creating thousands of manufacturing jobs and the cheapest and fastest to deploy energy. Subsidies for coal (this is embarrassing). |
While I agree with you therein lies the problem - the pain will take a while to feel enabling Trump to spin his bill as beautiful. While this is a terrible bill this is not the hill that Dems should be dying on now. They needs to come up with a clear consistent message of what they will be for if they win back Congress in 2026 and what they would be for if they win the executive in 2028. |
