LOL all you want, but the numbers don't lie: #ECNL -575 (72.6%) #GirlsAcademy -166 (21%) All Others -27 (3.4%) 🇨🇦 -24 (3%) There's a higher than 0% chance for non ECNL/GA kids of course, but not much higher..... |
This would be believable if there was one example of a ecnl club leaving to join ga. |
Bookmark this and come back in a year and you'll eat your words. |
I put odd on your kid playing in college at zero. I put the odds of you being an ECNL troll 100% |
Ok ECNL homer. Oh by the way why is there so many female soccer players in the transfer portal? Since so many of them came from ECNL clubs is it because they're just not good enough? |
Transfers are happening across all sports, men’s and women’s. Try again GA Dad |
Most kids want to post commitment pics on ig and they take offers even when school is not a good fit. Some of these kids know they will be entering the transfer portal before a signing. |
Are the above ECNL numbers just girls? I don’t doubt that ECNL girls has more D1 commitments than GA girls, even proportionately to the number of players / teams, but 3.5:1 doesn’t seem right. 575 ECNL boys and girls and 166 GA girls makes more sense to me. |
So they know that they're not good enough for a team and planning to join the transfer portal before they even attend classes at a college? That makes no sense. |
That’s class of 25. 792 commits across 330+ D1 programs. There are literally thousands more that will happen in the next year. It’s like 20% of the class. Plenty of non ECNL/GA players will go D1. I literally know like 5 D1 players that came from EDP and I barely know anyone in that age group, since my kids are younger. |
It’s just girls. @ImYouthSoccer tracks every commit by school |
Seems like GA parents on here didn’t do well in math and reading when they were younger. You can’t argue numbers, you just can’t. The data is what it is and when you see the numbers above you have to take it as face value. You have a three times better chance of playing college if you’re at an ECNL program over GA. There’s really no arguement. And if you don’t like it, stick to GA and make a difference because it’s definitely a harder route but clearly not impossible. |
It might be right. The number of ECNL Boys class of 25 D1 commits is probably in the single digits. |
They “know” they don’t like the school but get FOMO. The transfer portal has all kind of players. Didn’t you see UNC top players transferring to other colleges? So don’t assume that only kids that don’t get playing time are the only ones in the portal. |
Do you have the numbers for an earlier class year? If ECNL has better D1 success (I am a GA fan but recognize that this is the case), you might expect early oral commits to disproportionately favor ECNL. It would be interesting to see the breakdown of actual freshmen classes. Agree with the comment about the numbers being the numbers. There’s just so much adolescent commentary here it’s difficult to parse the facts from the BS. More mature people would focus on the facts. |
