They'll always get allocation of fields in Loudoun or Fairfax, and if it's not enough they'll double and triple up teams on the small allocation they have (like they do for the South). The joke is they have no real home complex/fields/etc, either in Fairfax or Loudoun. TSJ complex is essentially off limits to the travel program. Now with Rev dropping FCV, it'll be interesting to see how many teams they can squeeze on their allocation of county fields. Every season it's the same song and dance: "We're looking to buy X amount of acres and build out a home for us"... and every season it falls through with no real reason as to why. |
It's true FCV has been promising a home field for a long time. Years. |
not if tactical local clubs book em up |
yea…. Being an outsider club yelling at the kid staffers is sure to get ur club outbooked |
I heard that they've been promising an announcement on field space for years now. But now, they're in a situation that they've never been in before. All the previous FCV coaching staff is leaving or has already left. They're trying to convince those players to follow them to a club that 1) desperately needs them and 2) will play in the same league and be a direct competitor. There's more change going on in the NoVA youth soccer market right now than there has been in a while. Clubs merging, re-aligning, forming partnerships, etc. As a result, there will be a lot of players exploring options that they maybe didn't or wouldn't have previously. Evergreen is no longer an option for them after this spring. All of that combined would seem to suggest that field space for FCV in Loudoun County has finally reached a critical point (unlike in previous years when it was still just a looming concern). Surely TSJ recognizes this. Even if every single FCV player *wanted* to stay with the club, how could they accept an offer when they don't know what the field situation is going to be? |
Tomorrow is today. Today's the day! |
FCV should offer LCDS to turn a field or two into turf fields. |
Two new fields in Willowsford being built for FCV. |
That's what they're trying to do with Community Church in Ashburn, but no information has followed so either it's still in talks or it fell through. |
Well, Revolution uses the CC/VA Academy facility for futsal and other things (not to mention a “connection” between them and the guy who bankrolls Revolution). So you can probably put 2 + 2 together and come up with a few ideas about what probably happened to talks between them and FCV. |
What happened? The only time I ever saw staff was when they locked me in. |
Perhaps FCV should merge with PSA. Parks and Rec allocates fields by how many players you have, and PSA has hundreds of rec players. They split a single 9v9 field into four fields for their practices. |
CP will probably do a good job bringing in players. I remember getting an e-mail from him when they were short players, and my kid hadn't even tried out. Eventually referred someone else from my kid's team. |
haha they are good at that…. |
u mean for loudoun |
