How would republicans have reacted if the Trump criminal indictments 1&2 had been about Obama instead?

After the Benghazi hearings, Clinton server, the Obama tan suit and all the racist accusations leveled against President Obama, how would republicans have reacted if the porn star payoff state criminal indictment and the federal criminal indictment for absconding with national security top secret documents and disseminating that information had been accusations leveled against President Obama?

In my view r's would have been humping the allegations like a dog in heat 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

How do you think r's would have debased themselves?

It's frightening to think how they might have done away with any semblance of due process. This is the party whose followers set up a gallows to hang Mike Pence for doing the right thing and believes everyone should open carry guns even in alcoholic establishments.

I mean, they wanted to impeach him for wearing a tan suit. I am guessing a full blown lynching would have been in order.

They would have held rallies across the country to suggest all kinds of violence against President Obama with their typical racist dog whistles.

I think a key difference between republicans and democrats is that republicans are infinitely more apt to resort to violence.

I am proud that in the face of the most corrupt and incompetent president we have ever had, the democratic party is using the proper legal channels and is not out there trying to physically harm the accused and shameless orange-skinned grifter.

January 6 will not wear well for the republican party. They showed us who they were.

You mean the way Democrats are currently doing? Oh.

It's unfortunate how republicans use the stupid and desperate in their ranks to commit violence on their behalf.

Trump will soon be indicted for that too. And for trying to rig the election with fake electors. Indictments 3 & 4 to come this summer.

Had this been Obama, they surely would have concocted some complete fiction about how Obama had already sold all our country's secrets to Al Qaeda and ISIS and would be calling for his execution by firing squad.

Every racist trope would have been trotted out to call for his incarceration.

Yeah, this thread will probably end with some Republican threatening to kick a PP's ass for disagreeing with him.

What the hell are you talking about? It's the Republicans who are holding these BS hearings now, it's the Republicans pushing stupid bills to try and punish House democrats "for lying" about investigations that resulted in dozens of indictments, arrests and convictions. It's the Republicans who are defending a man who willfully hid top secret documents in insecure locations, lied about them, and obstructed investigation.

If this had been Obama, and he had lost re-election and was trying to win the Democratic nomination again, his political career would be completely and totally finished. EVERYONE in the mainstream media would compare Obama to Robert Hanssen, Aldrich Ames, and Julius and Ethel Rosenberg. No one would stand up for him. Republicans wouldn’t really attack him because it would be pointless. But they would use Obama to smear the entire Democratic Party, and especially the front runner for the nomination, whomever that might be. The mainstream media would place a halo on the head of the Republican front runner. They would demand that the Democratic front runner disavow Obama in the strongest possible terms, but would never be satisfied. The Democratic Party would completely abandon Obama and he would quickly drop out.

Many Republicans would compare the minority of the BLM protestors who were violent to the "normal tourist visit" on January 6.
