My mom and I are currently waiting for a flight back to DC. It was supposed to leave at 2, then bumped to 4, then 5 , 6 and now 7:09. I’m annoyed but unsure if I have the right to complain —and what I would even ask for. Money back? Flight credits? Credits for booze? Massage?😁
Thanks! |
| 5 hours really isn't that long delay wise. You can ask but chances are slim to none that they'll give you anything. Maybe a food voucher. |
| Where from and which airline? |
| The phrase you're looking for is "Is there anything you can do for us?" |
| I would ask OP. Worst they can do is say no. I'd be included to ask for a future flight voucher of $100. It costs them nothing to give you one and it encourages you to choose them again for your next trip. |
| This flight from Memphis to DCA. I appreciate this feedback so much! |

Why is it delayed? If weather, forget it.
And 5 hours isn't really a severe delay. |
| I always ask - and usually get. |
| 5 hours is a big delay to me. has happened ed to me once and was able to get a $100 voucher from SW. I didnt feel like it was fair co.pensarion esp. since no real reason was provided, but I didn't have the energy to take it up the chain of command. sick of the airlines nickel and diming us and getting away with poor service. |
| Mechanical failure is reason for delay. |
| I received 10k points from AA last week for a similar delay, without asking. |
In the EU you would get between 250 compensation, I don't think the US has similar rules. |
| Be thankful that you even get out the door in the same day. |
Do you just walk up to the person behind the counter at the gate and ask for a voucher? |
| Biden administration is proposing similar rules to eu. But we don’t have them now |
