Started a diet last week, binged 3300 calories today

I’m totally going through all of the shame, guilt, etc. Like, I can’t even get through 1 week! Wtf is wrong with me?!

I seriously ate an entire sleeve of cookie and fast food today.

Trying to get back to it tomorrow, but I feel bad right now! Thinking about not eating as long as possible tomorrow to try to make up for it… good idea or not?

I've heard occasional cheat days are good because it resets your metabolism after all the low calorie days. Don't stress, just get back to eating healthy tomorrow.

Bad idea. The way to make this sustainable is to go slow and make minor changes so you don’t end up with the binging. Weight loss will come in the long run with consistency.

Just keep trying OP. So what you binged today, start fresh tomorrow! That's how we all start out

It's okay. One day at time. Drink a lot of water.

Fresh start tomorrow.

Drink a lot of water tomorrow to flush out the salt in the fast food and cookies you ate today.

You will do fine. You can do this.

You binged because you are undereating. This is why diets don’t work. You will keep binging if you keep dieting at the level that you are. Personally I do 250 calorie deficit and a very slow loss.

You have value. Fail forward. Keep the momentum going. Goals are challenging and have ups and downs.

Keep pushing forward.

It will be ok. Tomorrow is a new day. Start listening to the podcast Halfsize Me

I like some of the motivational speeches on youtube when I am struggling.

I’ve found the weight loss for busy physicians podcast helpful. I’ve lost 20 pounds very slowly over the last year. It’s mainly focued on how you think and your mental game. Less so on the food itself. I’m not a dr but I’m a type A person who needs a lot of logic and explanation for things.

+1 I learned this the hard way as a teenage dieter. Stopped dieting and shed pounds permanently.

I am a binge eater and also had a massive binge yesterday.

This advice is helping me too.
