Summer League Swim Time Trials Impact - Air Quality

Ours is on Saturday. Is there any chance it will continue as scheduled? I know there was the other post about swim teams still practicing today but our pool in Fairfax was shut down entirely so concerned about next few days...

Yes they will go on as scheduled Sat

I would think sports things will go on as scheduled unless we are still in code red. It is supposed to be better (not red) by Saturday due to a change in wind/weather pattern.

Ask your pool. Put a mask on if you are worried.

Supposed to be ok by tomorrow ( Friday)
I think time trials Sat morning will be fine.

That's not what this forecast is predicting

Call your pool or email coach. How can anyone here answer your question?

I don't think anyone knows what Saturday will look like at this point. The hope is that it will be better. But if it is red, they probably will have to cancel. Some pools will probably not hold Time Trials and just use that first B meet on Monday as their times. Others will reschedule for Sunday or conduct Time Trials one evening during the week.

we don't have a B meet scheduled Monday so that could work.

Time Trials are as much to train the new parents as to get times for the kids so I do hope Saturday (or Sunday) can work!

It is up to the individual team to make the call. It is suppose to be a lot better by Saturday and scheduling a make-up is challenging for most teams as it requires a lot of volunteers.

With everything, you are free to make the decision that is best for you and your family based on your health status.

I think Sat air should be fine.

It's being discussed and could be canceled.

If the AQI goes back down to like it was yesterday, it likely won't be canceled. But, if it is like today or worse they may get delayed to Sunday or possibly moved to an evening early next week.

Please don't. They don't have a magic ball. They will let you know when they have decided.

+1. Team reps and pool board members are parents, too. Everyone is talking and considering options if it's still this bad. The forecasts I'm reading seem to indicate that by Saturday we should be at Code Orange, and from there families can make their own health decisions.

Once pools and teams make decisions those will be shared, no point in asking the question now.

All I know is that our pool is closed and practice canceled today, but an email also went out reminding people to fill vacancies on the volunteer schedule for time trials. So as of right now they are behaving as if the meet will take place.
