What to do for elementary graduation?

Anonymous
My son is graduating from elementary school next week. I hear of graduation parties for high school and college.

What is typical for an elementary graduation?

None of his friends seem to have anything special planned.

We let the kid finishing elementary school pick what was for dinner.

We did lunch after graduation with a couple of other families at Pizza Paradiso because it was easy and nearby.

My kid has a half day on the last day of 5th. We’ll go out for lunch somewhere.

This, plus a small present.

We just did the school events (a dance/party and a moving up ceremony). She got to pick out a fancy dress for the dance.

When I finished elementary school way back in the 80s, one of my class mates had a party at his house for the whole grade (only about 40 kids) and we all hung out outside and drank juice boxes and ate chips and were awkward together for 2 hours.

Ice cream with the family.

We're having an ice cream party with just us and our kid and then we're heading to the pool. All the kids will be at the neighborhood pool.

We let the kid pick dinner.

One classmate had a huge party that 2/3 of the grade was invited to (we didn’t make the cut for that).

This is way too late to plan anything. You should have planned back in March/April. Balloon arches sold out, caterers booked. You'll be lucky to find a 3 tier cake at this point.

Your kid is not graduating. He’s moving on o the next grade. No party. That’s ridiculous
