Can a vaginal yeast infection cause sepsis?

Anonymous
I am new to the world of yeast infections. I did a quick Google and am seeing things about sepsis if the yeast infection enters your blood. I know this sounds insane but can yeast go from crotch into your blood? NO question is too random for DCUM. Thanks all...

Highly unlikely but don't let it fester

What if it doesn't go away?

Any infection can potentially causes sepsis. But it is rare

I know that bacteria from a UTI can cause sepsis, but I haven’t heard of a vaginal yeast or bacterial infection doing so.

Get it treated!

Mycotoxins sepsis is a thing. Extremely unlikely for it to be caused by a yeast infection though.

Your problem isn't your yeast infection at this point. It's your health anxiety.

Why can’t you get treated for a yeast infection?

Clearly you have never had a persistent infection that is nonresponsive to traditional creams.

OP, invasive fungal infections are primarily only a risk for people who are immunosuppressed, whether it is untreated HIV, being on chemotherapy, on high dose steroids, etc. Or who have compromised systems in some other way, such as having cystic fibrosis or other particular genetic disorders such as innate T-cell deficiency.

Otherwise, your body's immune system works as planned and these local infection stay local.

So what else is going on with your body that makes you think you are immunocompromised?
