In other words, not homophobic *people*, homophobic *parents.*

All the current gays are fine. But I don't want my kid joining them.

I want my children to be happy and safe. Also I'd like grandchildren. It's perfectly possible to have all these things and be homosexual. But in most places in the world, it does make it harder, which means sacrifices regarding careers, travel, where to settle own, and adoption or reproductive assistance.

And let's not kid ourselves: it's only a small portion of the human population that is entirely accepting of homosexuality. Therefore, it's perfectly normal for a parent to be worried about their child if their child is gay.

I think it has to do with people who are confused about their own sexuality.

I believe the push for transgender rights is harming the acceptance and gains of LGB people.

Define “homophobic.” I have no problem with anyone who is gay. Live your life. Does not mean I want the lifestyle shoved in my face constantly. We went from tolerate to you must celebrate (see controversy over recent NHL and MLB players not wearing Pride flags).

I was going to say the same. Unfortunately they’ve been linked together in the same “cause.”

It's not a lifestyle. It hasn't been called that this century.

There is more queer visibility now than ever. I don’t understand homophobia either, but let’s not pretend as though great strides haven’t been made

It's the portion that matters to most on DCUM. Successful people in the West.
