Waiting a year is not as bad as it seems. Most players will remain on the team they already are on. It's those looking to switch and the sept/Q4 who will have the uncertainty and likely just at the highest levels. At other levels, like strong USYS clubs, they aren't sweating over it, because they aren't going to force kids to younger team and aren't really expecting a ton of septQ4 from outside to want to be on their top teams. If anything they'll lose better players trying to jump up to ECNL or GA (depending on what they do) -- But that's the case each year regardless.

Waiting a year at younger ages is a BIG deal.

Maybe, if they play 11v11 for the first time in 25/25 and then end up on a team that is playing 11v11 for the first time in 26/27. Regardless, if anything, it's an advantage because everyone is still "playing" up, especially any Sept/Q4 player who joins a team with their grade in 26/27.

Yes

IF they are good enough, they can stay on the team.

They can/will, especially at the mid to lower levels. Clubs won't break up existing teams over this, although people over time might self-select something new.

If anyone doesnt think club soccer is completely broken with crazy Karens running the show this should provide instant proof.

I was surprised they didn’t turn comments off but maybe that was their way of outing dissident's lol

Whats even more crazy is people are posting this drivel under their own names!

Those poor commenters haven’t had the benefit of these 755 pages and now they are blindsided and angry. What’s amusing is they seem to think this hasn’t been already in the works for a year and don’t realize that they are shouting into the void.

I'm still holding onto something for next year as I have two Q4's at home! Current U14 & U11...

I can understand the frustration of some of the parents who will still have kids that are trapped. I myself have a kid born in August in a state with an 8/1 cutoff and am not very concerned about the age range of play, but am very concerned about his 8th grade trap and his senior year. Hopefully they’ll have some fixes for those issues because that’s potentially two seasons of no soccer for him. The comments are an entertaining read though lol

I see no issues ECNL still allow 8th trapped player to play down during HS season and senior year will be same as now, a combo team.
