Less than a quarter of the class has posted where they’re going on the Instagram page, but what’s there is pretty impressive: Stanford, Brown, Dartmouth, JHU, Georgetown and many UVAs. So much for those who insist that nobody’s getting into UVA . . .

Also seem to have more W&M reporting than at W-L (although I know two W-L girls going to W&M who didn't share it there).

Yea you mentioned that on the other thread, and here’s the thing: you don’t know that, you can’t back it up, and it’s not supported in the slightest by the Instagram pages or any other publicly available information.

Whether or not this is true, there’s no reason it should be surprising. And Arlington high schools in general have good college stats, in terms of schools with low admit rates.

APS (well, Arlington Magazine) publishes acceptance data and the UVA #s for YHS and W&L have been about the same for the last ~3 years and nearly identical. It’d be extremely weird to say no one gets into UVA when it is extremely predictable.

I find people who say stuff like this fascinating. How could you possibly know that!?!? What nonsense. There is absolutely no way to compare APS to, say, FCPS or MCPS or DCPs or private schools since none publish real datasets and rely on instagram pages. Arlington folks love to feel superior about their schools and they are great when compared nationally but locally it’s not at all clear that they are any better than any other jurisdiction.
