| Hasn't he been calling for more prosecution of criminals and juveniles? And Bowser has been disagreeing? |
| I think he's just fed up. Parents aren't controlling their kids and his hands are tied. |
| I don’t blame him. He has no support on the prosecutorial side or from politicians. |
| Smart to get out before the summer crime wave. No Chief wants to be around when the mayor calls out the national guard. |
| Someone just told me he's going to the FBI. |
| It looks like he quit. That's understandable. I've quit DC too, no longer go into the city. |

He is retiring after more than 3 decades on the force and moving to be Assistant Director of the FBI.

Good for him. |
Seems like a great opportunity and less stress for him and his family. Maybe a federal pension as well. Guessing it has been in the works for a bit and that may be what has made him feel free to be more blunt and outspoken. |
| Who is the interim chief? |
+1 |
Yes; good for him. |
Bowser and Contee were on the same page. They both constantly fought the Council. |
This is an excellent opportunity for him. The FBI is lucky to have him. |
