Panic attacks at Disney

I'm at disney and in a state of panic, feeling flushed and lightheaded--the crowds, the lines, the heat, the rides. we have four more days to go and I am not sure what to do. I'm terrified here

They have really good health stations. Go now and get some attention and cool off.

Drink more water, eat more salt -or find some electrolyte water.

Is it the crowds, the heat? Did you drink and eat enough?

One symptom of my hyperthyroidism was panic attacks. Maybe you should do bloodwork when you come home.

+1. This. Ask any employee

Did you not know what you're getting into by going to DW during peak season, in the FL heat, and just the overall beast DW is?

Be pre-emptive tomorrow. Take down-day, drink more water than you think you need to, sit out a ride or two, and re-set mentally that it's OK not to jam in XYZ.

Are you the poster who took a nap and DH got mad?

Get some water, sit on a bench, download the calm app and put earbuds in to listen to a meditation.

It is ok to take breaks. I think sometimes people get focused on making Disney the perfect trip. If you need to cut a day short or take a break in the middle, it is fine!

Hang out at your accomodation swimming pool for the next 4 days. Stay out of the parks.

You're having a panic attack and feel flush and lightheaded...and "terrified" - and the first thing you do is post on DCUM? Yeah I don't believe it

I believe you, OP.

Get out of the heat and sun. Attempt to get cool to cold water that’s by getting into a/c, drinking lots of cold water, putting ice on the back of your neck, splashing cold water on your neck.

Overheating is a panic attack trigger for me.

Can you go swimming? Take a cold shower?

11:05. More advice from a long time PA sufferer.

Consider taking a Benadryl and try to sleep. You’re all keyed up and Benadryl will help calm you.

Keep your blood sugar level stable - eat some quality protein and eat a bit lighter. Hydrate.

Don’t drink any alcohol. It’s dehydrating and can make your blood glucose levels dip which can make you feel shakier and prone to another PA.
