Why are the bees so aggressive in spring around here?

There are plenty of flowers to pollinate but the bees chose to attack us on tennis courts! Circle our heads and face for no reason. There are azaleas, honey suckle and other flowers down the way but they would rather attack us 3 out of 3 times we tried to play this week.

You weren't attacked. You must smell good.

Leave them be, they are busy doing their jobs pollinating.

They’re just being inquisitive. Leave the bees alone.

Everyone says lol "leave them alone?" What do you think OP is going to do? Attack the bees??! These two responses make no sense.

Is their nest near the court?

The bees were not attacking her. The whole thread doesn't make sense.

You leave them alone, they buzz around and go away.

OP these are big, fuzzy bees right?

They’re carpenter bees. Around this time of year, the male bees are aggressively guarding their nests. That’s why they’re hovering around and dive bombing you. The good news is the male bees don’t have stingers - they’re just belligerent. In a few weeks they’ll be done with this phase and will largely disappear.

Just leave them be and ignore them. Be impressed by their chutzpah. You’re big, they are little. And temporary.

People often get irritated by the carpenter bees and then spray poison into their nests.

Stop using perfume or any toiletries that are perfumed. When you die, life goes on
When bees all die, everyone dies. Leave the bees alone.
