Need a cheap used car

Anonymous
Single parent without a lot of money and I need a new car (to me) I need to spend under $10k and likely under $5k and under 100,000 miles. What brand and year falls into this category? Needs to fit 4 people.

Could get a Toyota Sienna with a little bit more miles. Pretty reliable.

If you only need to seat 4 I would not get a mini van. You can get a smaller sedan. Do some on line searches with your criteria.

You can’t afford a decent minivan.

I would chose to buy a newer car since she does not need the space.

Not bad if they have maintenance records

A newer car for $6k? Good luck.

Honestly, I could not get a car with less than 125K miles for 5k...6 years ago!

If you can go to 10 k, maybe.

I will say, that 5k car still runs and has 255k miles now.

PP again, OP I'd go look at that minivan!

I would look for a Honda Civic, preferably with one owner and proof of maintenance. We take very good care of our Hondas and sell them used with all the maintenance invoices. Hondas are very durable and last more years and mileage than domestic cars. They are great on mileage so less money on fuel.

A minivan is great for road trips. The Sienna you can take the rear seats out and it have a huge area for sleeping comfortably.

I would spend my dollars on fewer miles rather than more space. A sedan will be cheaper.

Just had to buy a used. car. 11k for a 2007 CRV with 110k miles.

Under 5k is going to be a challenge.

Good luck
