Oops, posted wrong:
Also, come on, we crucify celebrities for getting political all the time. Why should she weigh in when it's entirely "off brand?" It would be one thing if she wrote political songs. She doesn't. She's a pop star who writes about love and romance and breakups. Why do you even care what she has to say about this? I don't. I'm fine making up my own mind on this without Taylor Swift telling me what she thinks. I think the filmed kiss was a great way to fully announce themselves. I know they've been seen out and about, but this sealed it. I mean, his traveling all the way to Argentina for two days should have been an indication, but this is so sweet. Why can't people just enjoy a little love story blooming and not make everything negative? If you're not into it, or want to talk Israeli/Gaza politics or advanced maternal age, go to another thread. There are plenty. If she said anything about it at all, even “one word: ceasefire” you would criticize her mercilessly for it. |

Maybe Taylor's not saying anything about the Gaza war because any thoughtful statement requires nuance, which always gets lost in today's discourse.
And maybe it has to do with the fact that some of her best friends may have opposing feelings - ie, Gigi Hadid is Palestinian and the Haim sisters are Jewish, with a father who was born in Israel. Why can't people just let TS be, and enjoy her for what she is, a brilliant songwriter and musician? |
1) private and moody? Calvin Harris and Tom anything but. Most of her early boyfriends were not that private either. Joe was private but also hard to know since they dated during the pandemic. There’s nothing really unique about this relationship. But I do think her parents could find his parents more relatable |
| Why the F would she say anything about Israel? She is a pop star. You people are losing your marbles!! |
33 is not too old to be a mom naturally and a lot of this is dependent on your own personal genetics. There have been plenty of studies that have shown that extended fertility is related to overall longevity. So for example my grandmother had pregnancies into her late thirties and lived until mid 90s. My parents also had an accidental pregnancy at 41 that resulted in my completely normal and healthy younger brother. There’s no one in my family that has had fertility problems and they all are pretty long-lived. I’m sorry for you and your kin since apparently their eggs turn to powder at 33. But you couldn’t possibly know Taylor’s actual risk of infertility issues without knowing her family history and personal health information. And frankly if she wanted to have kids she could do that at any time she doesn’t have to wait for the first dumb jock to date her. |
| I'm upset she's never spoken up for homeless veterans. |
I stopped listening to her music after she didn’t address the flooding in Ellicott City |
| She's smart to not speak up on Palestine-Israel. It's too political and too many people have clear right/wrong sides. There's zero benefit of her speaking up and actually doing so would cause harm to her career. |
Or the Missing Middle! |

| For real. I like Taylor Swift, but I couldn't care any less about her (or any celebrity's) opinion on any political topic. She's an entertainer. |
Seriously! She is smarter than university Presidents who put themselves in the middle of the mess by saying stupid things. |
Excellent synopsis. |
