Her dad telling Travis to go out in front of the fans is absolutely meant to make fans go wild, record videos, and dominate the headlines over any bad Taylor news.

What do you want Taylor Swift to say about the Israel/Gaza conflict? Serious question.

One word: ceasefire

Also, come on, we crucify celebrities for getting political all the time. Why should she weigh in when it's entirely "off brand?" It would be one thing if she wrote political songs. She doesn't. She's a pop star who writes about love and romance and breakups. Why do you even care what she has to say about this? I don't. I'm fine making up my own mind on this without Taylor Swift telling me what she thinks.

I think the filmed kiss was a great way to fully announce themselves. I know they've been seen out and about, but this sealed it. I mean, his traveling all the way to Argentina for two days should have been an indication, but this is so sweet. Why can't people just enjoy a little love story blooming and not make everything negative? If you're not into it, or want to talk Israeli/Gaza politics or advanced maternal age, go to another thread. There are plenty.

If she said anything about it at all, even “one word: ceasefire” you would criticize her mercilessly for it.

Exactly, it wouldn’t be enough.

Maybe Taylor's not saying anything about the Gaza war because any thoughtful statement requires nuance, which always gets lost in today's discourse.

And maybe it has to do with the fact that some of her best friends may have opposing feelings - ie, Gigi Hadid is Palestinian and the Haim sisters are Jewish, with a father who was born in Israel.

Why can't people just let TS be, and enjoy her for what she is, a brilliant songwriter and musician?

Like a lovesick teen…embarrassing.

DP. It’s very reminiscent of HiddleSwift. And the run is like she’s recreating a moment she had with Joe in Ms. Americana. Comes across like the whole thing is a dig at Joe just like her whole performative tbing with Tom Hiddleston was a dig at Calvin Harris.

Except it took 5-6 years for her to kiss Joe in public. But yes, the run into his arms after the concert is the same. But I can’t imagine she is really that calculated. Why? She pretty much already rules the world already.

But just to add - there are no mistakes - she purposefully shared that kiss with the crowd. They could’ve had a private moment, but he was waiting in front of the tent, visible to the crowd and she kissed him in view of everyone, versus waiting just a few more seconds until they were under cover. But that’s why she’s so beloved to her fans - she includes them in her life in this way, and they feel like part of it.

As this video shows, Travis was originally in the tent and Scott Swift told him to wait outside. Maybe Papa Swift is the grand manipulator everyone is looking for?

? Is this supposed to show it was all completely real and unrehearsed? Do you know anything about Taylor her dad has been very involved with her career for….forever. It’s like saying “Kim’s sex tape wasn’t a stunt because Kris Jenner negotiated the sale!”

This makes me think Taylor and dad are in cahoots. Why else would dad tell Travis to come out of hiding?

Manipulative as heck!

I guess if you describe an employer/employee relationship as being in cahoots then sure.

The other guys were private and moody. She loves love but she also needs someone that understands they are dating Taylor Swift. Besides it’s fun. It’s a cotton candy love story.

I’m sure she has thoughts about all that is wrong in the world but she isn’t going to say it especially during her world tour.

1) private and moody? Calvin Harris and Tom anything but. Most of her early boyfriends were not that private either. Joe was private but also hard to know since they dated during the pandemic. There’s nothing really unique about this relationship. But I do think her parents could find his parents more relatable

This exactly. I hope they get married and have a bunch of kids.

She’s 33, better hurry if she wants kids!

This is dumb af. Plenty of regular career women wait longer than that to have kids. I’m pregnant now at 30 and the average age at my OB’s office is 38 (although that isn’t all first pregnancies).

OBs lie, dear. The are salesmen/women at the end of the day. And they get paid the more old hags they can extract $30,000+ from. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Often the mother and/or baby has health issues. It is so strange how this forum tries to act like waiting until you're too old to be a mom naturally is cool, when it is actually depressing (if more ways than one) and unnatural.

33 is not too old to be a mom naturally and a lot of this is dependent on your own personal genetics. There have been plenty of studies that have shown that extended fertility is related to overall longevity. So for example my grandmother had pregnancies into her late thirties and lived until mid 90s. My parents also had an accidental pregnancy at 41 that resulted in my completely normal and healthy younger brother. There’s no one in my family that has had fertility problems and they all are pretty long-lived. I’m sorry for you and your kin since apparently their eggs turn to powder at 33. But you couldn’t possibly know Taylor’s actual risk of infertility issues without knowing her family history and personal health information. And frankly if she wanted to have kids she could do that at any time she doesn’t have to wait for the first dumb jock to date her.

I'm upset she's never spoken up for homeless veterans.

I stopped listening to her music after she didn’t address the flooding in Ellicott City

She's smart to not speak up on Palestine-Israel. It's too political and too many people have clear right/wrong sides. There's zero benefit of her speaking up and actually doing so would cause harm to her career.

For real. I like Taylor Swift, but I couldn't care any less about her (or any celebrity's) opinion on any political topic. She's an entertainer.

She had death threats after making comments about voting for women’s rights when an Uber conservative woman was running in Tennessee. Why on earth would she get in the middle of this conflict?

Seriously! She is smarter than university Presidents who put themselves in the middle of the mess by saying stupid things.

A significant number of thread participants is convinced that this entire relationship is nothing more than a publicity stunt. As one such poster put it, "this is all choreographed and fake". The poster continued, "You have to be 80 IQ to believe this cringe nonsense." But other posters either believe the romance is authentic or at least are willing to simply enjoy the illusion. Several posters engaged in a dispute about whether Swift should take a position on the Gaza war. In fact, at least one poster guessed that the entire "kiss" spectacle was staged in order to distract attention from her silence on the war.

Excellent synopsis.
