It’s coming for your agency soon. Mine just got RTO orders this week. Only for management right now, but everyone expects it to trickle down.

We may be at the same agency. I was pretty surprised considering we closed down 2 of our office buildings. How are they going to fit us all in one consolidated, smaller building? Really hoping our union negotiates something favorable for us. This recent update has me glad not to be in management.

Which agency?

It was in the newspaper today, based on a letter sent yesterday. Maybe it's repeated because they have a valid argument.

Don't worry, y'all will hot seat and any extras will work in janitorial closets or on the hallway floor.

I think it’s repeated because the Post and District leaders now realize the call to RTO in reality is going to be in reality very very minimal simply isn’t going to generate the revenue needed.

NP and also it costs them nothing but a little staff time to cobble together a letter and it makes their constituents feel like they are advocating for them.

Maybe they need to think a bit harder about why the city’s economy relies on federal employees buying a coffee and sandwich a couple times per week. Even if we returned to going into the office 4 days per week (pre-pandemic I teleworked one day per week), I don’t think that would get me to go back to my previous spending habits. Prices are higher, salaries not so much, and I’d prefer to bring my lunch and not waste money at the limited establishments near my office. Would rather spend on a nice dinner with my family on the weekend.

Part of the reason it took so long for federal workplaces to reopen was because the schools in this area were still virtual or hybrid during the 20/21 school year. It was a non-starter to bring feds back when their kids were still at home. If local governments had made it a priority to reopen schools that year, I think we would have returned sooner, maybe before everyone got so comfortable working at home.

Biden won’t eff up my life. I will watch Netflix at my desk. Eat my snacks.
YouTube and online shopping. FaceTime my dog.
Very long breakfast, lunching, and shits.
I will not work though.

Won’t matter. It’s not about “work” anyway

Ha! I go in now because of the bait rod my job and in-person meeting. I do telework when I can. But I refuse to buy lunch. I will not do it. Calling me back the economy - I won’t contribute.

And I not putting on a suit again either.
