| Our whole family did Easter brunch at a hotel restaurant. I ordered 2 mimosas and by the time we were ready for dessert I asked for a third and final drink. I was not driving home, had eaten plenty and had a glass of water. The waitress looked at me like I just told her I was an alien from Mars. She then looked worryingly at my husband who also told her that I’m not driving. I don’t believe I was acting drunk and always thought no more than 3 drinks. How many drinks is too many? |
| 3 max. You were fine and the waitress was out of line. |
| Eh, whatever. Maybe she's used to moms being the responsible one. Don't worry about it. Three is more than I'd have, but I wouldn't look twice at you for it - to each their own and all. |
| They can get into serious too now if they keep serving, you deserve be, and kill.someone. Just be glad they made sure you weren't driving. |
| 3 mimosas is maybe 1.5 drinks. Maybe. You were fine. |
| When I was a waitress more drinks meant a higher bill and happy customers so bigger tip. I never thought to judge anyone for their food or drink choices. That waitress was an idiot. |
| 3 max |
Wow, how many did YOU drink??? |
| That seems like a lot to drink. Do you drink 3 glasses of water with a meal? |
|
5 max please. I'm not convinced you got a stink-eye because your ordered a 3rd drink. Sounds like you were nursing that juice drink and it took you forever to finish one. Waitress was ready to get you all the heck out of there. Extra drink may mean extra 20-30 minutes.
Your husband mentioning that you were not driving doesn't help at all. You both seem to see only one reason to cut you off. More often than not, they need the table or she needs to start wrapping up. |
This. It’s a holiday brunch, they wanted you out of there. Either because they needed your table or your kids were obnoxious/ making a mess. |
| As many as you want, GMAFB. Of course don’t be obnoxiously drunk in public, don’t drink and drive, but that is not dependent on some arbitrary max number of drinks. |
| Alcohol and sugar are terrible for your health and pocketbook. Avoid at all costs, wherever you are. |
Then the restaurant should’ve set specific seating times in order to turn the tables over in a time frame of their choosing. OP, you were totally fine. |
| Agree that she probably just wanted the table clear. On a slow night with lots of empty tables they're happy of you order more and more. But a crowded hotel Easter brunch is make you happy and then clear you out as efficiently as possible. |
