Anyone have experience with new north Bethesda location? |
Anyone? |
No first hand experience there, but quite a few teachers from the downtown Bethesda locations (E-W and BCC) moved to the NoBe location since, I imagine, the commute is better for them. Our kids were sad to see them go. |
Never heard back from director after several emails inquiring so my only experience is a poor first impression |
Does anyone know how much their infant room is? |
I just did a tour yesterday. Infant room is 2700 with expected 3-5% increase in either January or March |
You can get nanny share for near this price, so much better |
Are you kidding? And what do you do when you Nanny is sick or has to go somewhere due to an emergency or needs to go overseas unexpectedly due to an emergency in her country? It’s a nightmare. At least at a center they have enough staff to cover such instances so we can still work. |
pp, you do not have to hire a nanny who needs to go overseas. There are local people too. There are existing shares where kids are leaving and the spot becomes available. As to nanny getting sick, trust me, your kid will spend more sick days with you at home when they become sick (expect roughly 5 days every month in winter, slightly better at all other times). Been there myself except I did not have any other option with my first one. |
If you want a nanny share, legally you need to get a childcare license for your home. |
This. If you host, you take on liability issues. If you do not host you are sending your child to a home that has not been inspected for safety issues. I'd take a licensed daycare any day over that headache plus your child will have a much easier time when they are 3 and ready for preschool. |
there is nothing difficult about looking about the requirements for licensed home, like plugs in your electrical outlets, fire extinguisher in the kitchen, phone numbers of emergency services displayed, etc. They only have basic requirements, most parents already have that in place. I would rather have the "liability" than sending my baby to a house with 10 kids and 2 women who pretend to watch them. Especially since I work from home and can help, in my potential nanny share situation |
Oh wow...good luck! |
Not really. Most centers, big schools follows the states public schools schedules. So if they close like a holiday, spring break, weather inclement so the Daycare center, prek center will close too |
I prefer a small family daycare. They don't follow and close like public schools |
