| What do y’all think? |
| Ludlow and it's not even close. Two Rivers is falling apart. |
| I think you’d be making a mistake leaving Ludlow. |
| Op here. We would be leaving TR. Been there since PK3 |
| Why are you considering leaving, and what are your other options? |
|
Test scores aren’t everything, but if you have an academically advanced or competent kid, it certainly seems like there would be a bigger pool of similar kids at Ludlow.
Someone in another thread said to check out Ludlow’s IG, so I did… and I have to say I’m impressed. Obviously that’s a somewhat superficial perspective, but they certainly seem to have a nice community with very involved parents & teachers. One thing I’ve heard about Ludlow is that lots of the teachers lottery or move to send their own kids their. That says great things. |
Definitely Ludlow then. |
| The question would be much better phrased by describing the reasons you would consider TRY and what you are solving for. The way you've phrased this is a popularity contest where DCUM gets to repeat "common wisdom". Do better. |
| Obviously, get away from TRY as soon as you can. It only gets worse the in the upper ES grades, and that was when there was a principal in place and the classrooms were fully staffed by teachers. |
| They’re both fairly even, IMO. Leadership is not good at both schools. |
| TR Middle is a non-option, so I wouldn't do the elementary for just a few years. Why bother. |
| Cannot imagine picking TRY over LT. Also, in terms of short term benefits, LT's 3rd grade teaching team is the best in the school. |
But Ludlow Taylor has leadership in place, correct? TRY doesn’t even really have that this point. |
Yes. LT has a principal who will be in her 3rd year next year. She's basically fine, just not super involved. Because the teacher leadership is so strong and the PTO/parents so involved (check out the thread complaining about how the school has too many community events), the school basically just runs without the principal when she doesn't want to be involved. It's a very different situation than TRY is in. |
Can you link that thread? |
