| Sorry meant to write "assuming some kind of weapon" not "assaulting some kind of weapon" in my original post. |
| Why do you care if you don't have a student there? It's already been handled. |
FFS people who write stupid sh!t like this should be banned from the website. |
| A shelter in place doesn't mean a weapon. If they're still checking out the scene, talking to admin etc. Maybe there are emergency vehicles outside. They just don't want people wandering around the building until they are completely back to business as usual. |
+1. If there was a weapon, they would have gone into lockdown, not shelter in place. |
Agreed. The PP doesn’t care what happens as long as her kids are safe at their Potomac schools. |
The goal is to turn every little scuffle into a major incident to help reinforce the narrative that society is in decline and schools are in dire need of armed prison guards. |
Because as an MCPS parent, I generally care about the wellbeing of our community and all of our kids? Are you ok? What's wrong with you? |
OP here, got it. Ok, I assumed shelter in place automatically meant some kind of elevated threat other than a fistfight. |
OP here, not a woman and also not a Potomac parent. My kids go to DCC schools. |
That's funny. Often when I post, I've been accused of being a Takoma Park parent, which I'm not. The local stereotypes are hilarious
|
Incredibly. The assumption is that anyone who demands accountability, transparency, communication and consequences from MCPS is a white Potomac mom. As a POC, DCC dad, it goes against DCUM's script that I'd value and want those things for my kids. |
| 2 students got in an argument. One pulled out a knife and tried to stab the other student. That student then walked away with the knife, hence the shelter in place. Student was not actually stabbed luckily. He was protected by his backpack. |
Don't worry, that's already obvious to most everyone. |
