As a non-expert who hasn’t dealt with this problem personally, my ideas are listed below. They may be completely inadvisable.

maybe nuts, coffee/espresso powder, or unsweetened cocoa powder

OP here. Long story. I did not have cocoa powder. I did have cacao nibs, bought by mistake. I ground the nibs without roasting them and thought they'd substitute for cocoa powder. They don't. They don't really taste like chocolate at all, which means the large quantity of sugar in the recipe isn't balanced by chocolate bitterness. So it just tastes like heaps of sugar, which we don't like. I only learned after making the recipe that I should have roasted the nibs to make them taste like chocolate...

Add dark chocolate chips, mini marshmallows, nuts to top and put under broiler for a couple minutes until chips and marshmallows are melted. Cut into small pieces.

I would throw them away (or let my kids have them if they liked them). I wouldn't waste calories eating food I don't like.

Eat smaller portions with berries or unsweetened Greek yogurt.
