What happen if a VA driver doesn't pay a DC camera ticket?

Would they boot my car?

DC can boot your car if they manage to find it parked in public space. But the odds of that are very low.

Bigger concern I would have is if you work for the government and have a Security or Public Trust Clearance. You’d eventually get flagged for not paying your obligations.

Never once paid a camera ticket and never been booted. Not once.

I have never seen a boot on a car in DC.

Every time we receive a camera ticket from DC, I just pay it because my husband would fly into a rage if he knew ( his car).

For starters it doubles if you don’t pay it in time so keep an eye on that. Not sure VA and DC have reciprocity on camera tickets so possibly nothing. But if you get pulled over in DC down the road, or get in an accident in DC it will show up. Why have that hanging over your life, plus then it’s doubled. Just pay it.

DC does not have reciprocity with VA or MD for camera tickets.

I have seen the orange metal boots on cars in my neighborhood many times. I’m near Georgetown hospital.

In the last year DC has started booting cars again though not in great numbers - in fact if a car is boot eligible it is tow eligible though in most instances cars get booted first since there are a lot more boots than tow trucks.

But the DC Council is finally getting serious about this issue and it sounds like a lot of folks on the DC Council are going to put some money in the budget for a lot more boots and tow trucks and the staff to put them on cars and that liability never goes away.

Just don't park in the street in DC. Park in a garage.

No, it doesn't. Once you get rid of the car or different tag...
