- and deploying an additional 300,000 troops:
These military actions by our NATO allies will likely take place, beginning later this year. The challenge to this Russian containment policy is finding, or producing, sufficient quantities of heavy weapons for effective containment. The Cold War in Europe is back on, in case anyone had any lingering doubts. Russia is Europe’s enemy and its main threat. |

China is the real enemy.
Russia is not. |
China is the real enemy? The warmongers really are trying to do anything they can to distract from all the problems we have domestically. Problems not caused by China or Russia one bit. |
I am the OP. China is ALSO our enemy. That is a fact. China is not “our trading partner;” they are an enemy of the US. Republican George Bush began “the pivot toward Asia” US foreign policy. Democrat President Barack Obama - for 8 years - continued the U.S. pivot toward Asia. Trump’s administration quietly continued the U.S. pivot toward Asian. And why? - BECAUSE CHINA IS OUR ENEMY But the fact that China is our enemy in no way alters the fact that Russia is NATO’s enemy, and therefore Russia is our enemy. |
| Only a complete moron (or a foreign troll) would disagree with the fact that China is an enemy of the USA. |

I fist went to China 25 years ago. Unlike our government offices and business leaders, I did not have high level staged and pleasant coffee chats with carefully selected talking heads at universities and ministries. I travelled and talked to normal people. The message from them was loud and clear, “The USA is our enemy”. Threatening to bomb Los Angeles was common. I had never and have never traveled in a place where the common sentiment was so in favor of or jonesing for combat with the USA.
That sentiment is now in the drivers seat in Beijing. |
When did China become our enemy? What did they do to us to become our enemy? |
Differnce here, though: the borders in the Cold War were guarded by the Russians to keep the population in. Our troops stationed on the East German border were mostly watching for escapees. There were guard towers, barbed wire, and dogs on the East German side. More like a prison. However, there were thousands of thousands of US troops stationed in West Germany preparing and drilling for invasion by the Russians--but they were not necessarily on the border. There were more American soldiers guarding the East German border than Germans.(the Brits guarded the northern portion.) |
Yes we need to surrender now, |
There is a difference between 'an' enemy and 'the' enemy. Right now they are an enemy. If they every invade Taiwan, they will be the enemy. Russia is fighting a war of expansion, so they are currently the enemy |
Had the sheer, unadulterated nerve to grow their economy and refuse to march to the American drum. |
You'll find the same sentiment in many Arab countries today. I thought it was sort of comical when the Israeli media were allowed to report from the World Cup in Qatar as a sign of goodwill from the "Abraham Accords." And then they found out that NO ONE in Qatar wants to talk to them and engage with them, and people on the street turned their back on them the second they found out they are from Israel. In a typical Israeli fashion they spun it as antisemitism instead of realizing: Abraham Accords were signed by dictators and tyrants in direct opposition to what the authentic democratic sentiment in their respective countries is. Ergo, it's only democracy when we like the outcome. |

Start a different thread for China.
I'm glad NATO is finally getting some balls. |
Hope they are putting their money in, as well. |
Um, you could describe any EU country that way. Or any number of other countries, who are primarily concerned with the welfare of their own citizens. The EU is not actively subverting the US political process behind the scenes. China is. |
