Got a Favorite Grandchild?

Why do you think you favor a certain grandchild? Is it because they were first, or more like yourself, or more attractive, or is it a personality thing?

The favorite kid usually bears the favorite grandchild - could be a monster, it won't matter to the types of people who show (but deny) favoritism. Usually that kid looks/acts like the neurotic grandparent, as it happens.

We do have a favorite but only because he's older, an adult and his mother is not in the picture anymore. We give him everything he asks for.
The other grandkids don't know nor do their parents know.
But even if they did or do know I don't care.

Trust me, the other grandkids and their parents know. Same situation in our family. It is very obvious. Grandma feels sorry for the kid and tries to fill the cracks with money.

They don't. They don't say anything. My kid knows his grandmother favors her boyfriend's kids. It's not a big deal but she cannot figure out whey he has no interest in her and will not return text/calls or see her except when forced or bribed. She wants to come around for his birthday only and he really doesn't want her.

They definitely know. My DD7 isn’t the favorite grandkid and she’s well aware

The one most respectful to the grandparents is the most doted on.

She doesn’t care

My inlaws definitely have a favorite. It's the kid of their favorite child, also an only and the last grandkid. All of the other grandkids are fully aware of this-they're older teens/adults. It's pretty obvious.

My parents don't seem to have a favorite grandkid but they definitely have a favorite child-the youngest.

I think my middle daughter is my parents favorite. This is because she is the most like them (and me). She is also a wonderful kid. My eldest is great and easy and sweet, but different. My youngest is a boy (the only boy) and still too young to show his personality. My brother has only 1 daughter and she is sweet, but kept away by my brother’s ex wife (whom my parents dislike very much).

My parents hide it really well. I think my brother is my mom’s favorite and I am my dad’s favorite.

Usually it is the kid of the favorite child. Barring that, sometimes it is the grandkid they spend the most time with (lives close by etc).
