Why must people live alone? We’re social beings. It’s against evolution.
Is this a rite of passage or something? |
| Maybe this person wants to live alone? What's it to you? |
I'm sure my Aspie husband and son wouldn't mind living alone sometimes
Indeed, the only adults I know who live alone, instead of finding roommates or shacking up rapidly with a significant other, are introverts who value alone time. |
| Living with roommates can be truly terrible. |
|
I agree it’s silly when young folks stretch themselves thin monetarily to live alone.
Is that what you meant? |
| Some people are out and about socializing all day. |
| Many coupled people and those living with roommates would desperately love to be living alone. Just ask them. |
| What? I'd love to live alone!! |
| Married 35 years, I would love to live alone! |
| I hope I get to live alone again before I die. |
| Lived alone from 20-35; it was awesome. I'm actually extroverted generally, but there is something about having your own space that is just lovely. EVERYTHING on your own terms. I don't think you need to do it like I did for so long, but I think everyone should do at least a year like this. |
| I think it’s important to help people grow up and figure out their priorities. Although same age roommates can be beneficial. If this is your child, op, remember if you love them set them free. You will be awed at how they bloom in ways you couldn’t have imagined. Respect their space and you will end up closer, and suddenly gain a friendship with a fully mature adult. |
| I haven't lived with another person in 30 years. I can't even imagine it now. |
I’m a widow. No choice. |
| I've been living alone for 22 years. No way would I change that. |
