| ARE YOU aware that in the GREAT STATE OF VIRGINIA that blind get an exemption because they are blind? That is crazy |
What's crazy about it? It makes sense to me. |
I guess we don't see eye to eye on this ( joking) |
| It’s the same on federal taxes. |
| Have you ever tried to walk through an airport and catch a flight as a blind person? |
Last time I went on a plane was like 7 years ago... |
Because you are blind? |
Don't "Great State" me, we're a Commonwealth. |
| Would you rather be blind and pay less in taxes, OP? |
| Umm this isn’t true. My spouse is blind. All we get on taxes is the ability to increase our standard deduction, which doesn’t matter bc we itemize |
|
The feds give you a break too i believe.
If you are legally blind, your standard deduction increases by $1,700 as well. If you are married filing jointly and you OR your spouse is 65 or older, your standard deduction increases by $1,350. |
| Give the blind people a break. It cannot be easy. |
|
Do you know how much money many disabled people spend on assistive devices? Often not covered by insurance?
Get outta here with the implication this is some sort of advantage. I'd be fine if blind people paid ZERO TAXES. Why? It's a tiny portion of the population. |
| The disabled are more unemployed and under-employed than any other category of people (gender, race, ethnicity, whatever). Most human beings are ok with cutting them a little bit of slack like a small break on their taxes |
|
My god, OP, are you really so hateful that you take out your faux outrage on BLIND people getting a small break in life?!
Try to look at the upside...maybe , just msybe, if karma works for you, you'll get the same benefit someday! |
