What is "woke?" Conservative author tries to define it

So our old friend Bethany Mandel was interviewed recently on Rising (which is The Hill's TV channel?) and since she kept talking about things being "woke" the host asked her what it meant to her.

It did not go well.

The reality is, if she were talking to Tucker Carlson she would have been able to rattle off a definition without thought.

Her problem is that she was asked by a Black person and she was having trouble coming up with a way to word it in a way that didn't show her racism.

She spent a whole chapter in her "book" on woke but can't come up with a succinct description. How embarrassing. These are the thought leaders among the Republicans?

Compare also to the definition of "woke" that DeSantis's legal team gave - "the notion that there are injustices in the world, and that we should do something about it."

Because the one time that republicans had to define it under oath, the definition they came up with was pretty damning. According to his own AG they are launching their crusade against, "the belief there are systemic injustices in American society and the need to address them"
